Rugged handheld computers manufactured by Psion Teklogix Inc. are the first to be certified on the Visual Logistics Warehouse Management System of Tecsys Inc., the companies said. Psion is a provider of mobile computing technology, while Tecsys develops supply-chain management software. The latter's application delivers visual instructions to workers. The combination of the two offerings will result in faster and more accurate putaway, picking and packing, the vendors claimed. Visual communication is especially important in environments where multiple languages or other factors impede communications, they added. Psion's Workabout Pro and 7535 G2 rugged handheld computers passed Tecsys' certification criteria, and were the first to be approved for field deployment.
