EquaTerra has created a hosted version of Governance WorkPlace, the vendor's software for the management of multiple service providers, and support of back-office processes in both shared services and outsourced environments. The first implementation under the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model has been operational since the middle of February. By deploying the application in a hosted environment, companies avoid upfront capital expenditures, with monthly fees paid out of operating budgets, the company said. In addition, there is no need for extensive internal IT support or architectural approval. The software is built on a scalable, Microsoft-compatible business intelligence platform. Governance WorkPlace is also available under a perpetual software license, for organizations preferring to host their own governance systems. The tool incorporates 29 governance best practices across six critical areas: service quality and program management, issue management, consumption management, commercial management, compliance management and communication management.
