FastPic Systems is offering FastPic5, inventory-management software which helps companies visually to maximize space utilization while boosting the accuracy and productivity of shelving, racks and automated systems. The cube-utilization feature of FastPic5 creates a graphic representation of storage and retrieval shelves and totes. Users can visually rearrange them to achieve optimum storage density, allowing the maximum number of SKUs to be stored in the unit. Users can drag and drop totes onto virtual shelves to quickly determine the best storage mix, increasing the overall storage density of the unit and maximizing floor space. The software also lets users drill into a cell to specify its contents, reducing the time needed for initial loading of the storage and retrieval system. Shelf and tote configurations can be copied when multiples of the same configuration are required for maximum storage and picking capacity. A color-mapping feature allows users graphically to see the location of free space in the storage and retrieval unit, then reconfigure shelves, totes and containers to take advantage of unused space. FastPic5 can manage space in all dimensions, the vendor said. It provides complete inventory control for increased productivity, inventory turns, picking accuracy and inventory security.
