IBS Opens Office in Rotterdam, to Support New Ocean-Transport Service

IBS Software

June 18, 2008

IBS Software, a provider of information technology to the travel, transportation and logistics industry, has set up an office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The new location will serve as the base for IBS's new ocean transportation line of business. The office is the company's second in Europe (after London) and fourteenth worldwide. V.K. Matthews, chairman and chief executive officer of IBS Group, said the company sees "great potential" in the ocean-transport business. Located close to one of the world's largest seaports, the Rotterdam office will provide a source of expertise for adding new products related to that sector, Matthews said. IBS already offers integrated software for marine-terminal management, known as iPort, within its ocean transportation line of business. iPort is in place at three ports under the Sharjah Ports Authority in the United Arab Emirates, as well as at the Port of Male in the Maldives. The product supports the full range of port operations, including cargo and container handling, yard processes, cargo delivery and billing of all services provided by a seaport. IBS also sells systems to airlines, airports, oil and gas companies, cruise lines, hotels and tour operators.
