Global Link Logistics Expands Furniture-Transport Service to Shanghai

Global Link Logistics | May 07, 2008

Global Link Logistics has expanded FLEX, its trans-Pacific service for mixed and less-than-container furniture imports. The service now includes the Shanghai region of China, where Global Link has established a 30,000-square-foot consolidation warehouse to handle shipments from the region's furniture manufacturers. As a result, FLEX is now available from the three major Asian furniture origins: Ho Chi Minh City, Yantian and Shanghai. Global Link is a freight forwarder specializing in the movement of furniture from China to the U.S. It created FLEX so that manufacturers and dealers of all sizes could consolidate orders from any number of factories at origin, then ship individual orders, some as small as 300 cubic feet, directly to any point in the contiguous U.S. and many destinations in Canada. The service utilizes a logistics network that is dedicated to furniture. Importers get the cost advantages of a direct container program, combined with the order-size flexibility of a North American warehouse program, Global Link said.
