Amitive, Inc. has developed Amitive Unity, a suite of supply-chain-management software designed specially for companies that outsource their manufacturing. The tool is aimed at users that focus strongly on brand management and product design, and view supply-chain excellence as a competitive advantage, the company said. It helps users to synchronize demand and supply across all partners in the chain, optimizing such "community-centric" variables as lead time, shared capacity and quantities. As a result, Amitive said, brand owners can focus on boosting product velocity across global supply chains. A community forecast-management feature aggregates customer forecasts by product and supplier over time. Forecasts can be submitted automatically via electronic messaging, spreadsheet or file upload, or manually by direct entry into the community console. Other capabilities include community purchasing, inventory management, order management, fulfillment and logistics, and invoice reconciliation. The application is delivered via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model.
