HiQube, a vendor of business-intelligence (BI) software, has released HiQube 5.0, the latest version of its BI platform. The update contains multiple additions, including increased international language support and enhanced security features. HiQube 5.0 offers support for Unicode, the industry standard underlying the representation and manipulation of text for most of the world's languages. With the incorporation of Unicode, the application supports numerous additional languages, including Japanese and Chinese dialects. In addition, the user interface can be rendered in various languages, and all underlying information, including user comments, can similarly be translated into other languages to support global collaboration. The second major new feature in HiQube 5.0, improved access list management, is intended to boost the platform's security and protect the underlying data model. The technology allows customers to limit the number of users that can edit the model. HiQube 5.0 also includes scalability enhancements, the vendor said.
