Shaw Tracking, a provider of mobile communications products for the Canadian transportation industry, has joined the Intermec Honours Partner Program. Intermec Inc. is a vendor of technology for the tracking and management of supply-chain assets, incorporating radio frequency identification (RFID), mobile computing, data-collection systems, barcode printers and label media. The partnership between Shaw and Intermec embraces integrated on-board computing technology, wireless data products, rugged hardware and automatic data-capture capabilities. Shaw Mobile is a mobile fleet and freight-management system that was specially designed for less-than-truckload, parcel, courier, cartage and private fleets. It recognizes customer-specific exception data such as schedule changes, delayed deliveries and unplanned stops. Shaw Mobile also provides engine diagnostic reporting, which includes hard-brake events, speed, idling, fuel efficiency and odometer readings.
