Activant Solutions Inc. has developed a new application for business analytics, aimed at distributors. The Activant Business Analyzer is intended to give users greater insight into their operations, the vendor said. The tool offers faster responses to queries and more compact databases. Distributors can produce charts and tables for specific users and roles, and users can also produce custom reports. They can set up flags warning them when performance indicators are weak. Reports can be e-mailed directly from the application, and can be set to run on a variety of different scheduling options, then distributed automatically to suitable individuals within the company. Other features include the ability to view data based on calendar or fiscal year, security protection to keep users out of unauthorized areas, and a drag-and-drop design, which creates queries faster. Activant sells business-management software in three primary industries: hardlines and lumber, wholesale distribution, and the automotive parts aftermarket. It has operations throughout the U.S., Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
