3PL Employs MercuryGate's Mojo To Optimize Transportation Plans

Challenge: A large 3PL in Chicago needed a multi-client Optimization Engine to keep each customer's activity discrete. They needed an optimization routine to deliver optimum carrier, mode, and route combinations and evaluate inbound and outbound shipments concurrently. Further, they needed to be able to set up workflows to suit each customer individually.

Solution: MercuryGate's Mojo provided the capability to employ shipment history to determine optimal transportation networks, resources, and alternatives, and the capability to optimize daily transportation plans. The 3PL uses Mojo to model customer's transportation network. They determine modes, carriers and lanes. They also determine opportunities for consolidation, multi-stop truckload, and pool distribution.

Result: MercuryGate delivered the infrastructure for their client to set up customers in their own environment and profile organization- and role-based workflows to suit each individual customer's needs. The greatest savings accrue to the 3PL's customers. Though these savings vary by customer, average annual freight bill savings of 10-15% are not unusual.
