Aldata Unveils Updates to Category Optimization for Retail

Aldata, a provider of business software for retailers, manufacturers and distributors, has created the 2012 version of Aldata Category Optimization.

The tool includes new insights, modeling, shelf- and store-management features. Upgrades include a new dashboard-driven interface, the ability to determine cannibalization by SKU, planogram automation and macro store-analysis capabilities. Users can immediately identify opportunities for sales growth and profitability, as well as distribution gaps. Planners can cluster stores by geography, demographics, physical size or fixtures. Planograms can then be generated and applied to multiple stores with similar attributes, or created specifically for unique locations. Aldata Category Optimization integrates category management, strategic and tactical assortment and retail execution through space planning.
