Anaren Launches Remote Temperature-Monitoring Kit for Cellular Networks

The Wireless Group of Anaren Inc. has launched a Cellular Machines product line.

The tools send real-time sensor data over a cellular network, so that it can be received on mobile devices or reviewed on desktops via a cloud server. The first mass-market Cellular Machines offering from Anaren is a standard Temperature Monitoring Kit for monitoring refrigerated assets in food service, healthcare and walk-in or reach-in applications such as warehouses and supermarkets. The new products are operated on the Verizon wireless network and were introduced last December in coordination with Verizon’s regional rollout strategy. The Cellular Machines line is one of several initiatives by Anaren to apply its wireless experience to the Internet of Things space. Future applications will monitor other environmental factors such as light, moisture, vibration, pH and power quality. The Cellular Machines product line began as a private company in Austin in 2010. In addition to relying on the Verizon network, Anaren said it will be marketing the system directly to customers via its first-ever online storefront, and will negotiate large orders via national accounts-management arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
