Aras Issues Version 9 of Aras Innovator for Product Lifecycle Management

Aras, a provider of Microsoft open-source software, has made available version 9 of the Aras Innovator, a suite of applications for product lifecycle management (PLM). The software is built on a model-based service-oriented architecture (SOA). It includes single-instance, multi-language capabilities and support for the latest Microsoft platform products, including Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008. Version 9 allows for complex object-model, data-scheme, business-rule and workflow changes on the fly, with no programming or downtime involved, Aras said. Internationalization and localization are stored as data in Microsoft SQL Server, simplifying the development and sharing of language packs. The updated software supports the entire ISO/IEC 10646 Unicode character and script set, representing more than 500 written languages. In addition, a global corporate clock coordinates data and manages time complexity for collaborative processes such as electronic workflow signatures, program-scheduling deadlines and product releases.
