Datalogic Scanning Offers New Laser Scanner With Bluetooth

Datalogic Scanning has released a new laser scanner equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology. The PowerScan PBT8300 was designed for operations in industrial environments that require a high degree of mobility and versatility. The cordless device can withstand knocks, shocks, hits and drops, Datalogic said. The reader features 2.0 Bluetooth technology with an operating range of more than 295 feet in open-air environments. If a shorter range is sufficient, the scanner can be configured to operate within Class 2 specifications. A configuration PIN provides data security through user authentication and encryption. The PBT8300 carries the IP65/IP64 rating for dust and water protection. It is available in several models, including Standard Range or Auto Range optics with or without a display, and a three-key or 16-key keypad.
