DB Schenker Logistics Opens Office in Sochi, Russia

DB Schenker Logistics has opened an office in Sochi, Russia, host city of the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The move was in response to a high level of business activity in the runup to the events, the company said. "This new branch will allow us to support businesses of our global and local customers, who have projects linked to the games in 2014 and coming events in the newly constructed sports and events cluster in Sochi," said Anatoly Gvodev, managing director of ZAO Schenker. DB Schenker will also strengthen its domestic network in the rapidly growing region, he said. The Sochi branch will serve clients who are primarily focused on sports event logistics; consulting; project management; road, rail, air and ocean freight; customs clearance and provision of handling equipment. Established in 1992, ZAO Schenker covers 22 cities across Russia.
