Epicor Readies Update of App for Human Capital Management

Epicor Software Corp. has developed a new version of Epicor HCM, its application for human capital management. Version 5.7, due to be released this summer, is built on a global framework and Web services, the company said.

The system automates human resources processes, allowing users to track, manage and analyze employee data. It can be adapted for companies of virtually all sizes, Epicor said. The update can configure data fields that reflect the appropriate format based on a user's location. It can also be customized to show or hide certain fields, depending on the country. Users will be able to translate field labels, content and reports in English, French-Canadian and Spanish. Epicor HCM will include "deferred authentication," which uses a Web service to validate a user's credentials to the customer's Active Directory server, and securely stores the domain user name and password without the need to keep users constantly linked to the other side. A "Service Draft-Web Services" feature will let customers insert or edit data without having to run a task from the front end.
