EVA Air Cargo to Offer Pair of Weekly Freighter Flights Between Houston and Taipei

Taiwan's EVA Air Cargo will operate two weekly freighter flights between Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Taipei, beginning Nov. 1. The new scheduled service will employ a Boeing 747-400 freighter. It will be routed through Anchorage, Alaska on its departure from IAH, before landing in Taipei. The arriving flight will depart from Taipei and include stops in Anchorage and Chicago, before landing in Houston. Last year, EVA launched its first scheduled Asian air-cargo service from IAH. The additions have been driven by an expanding market on that route, the airline said. Houston generates shipments of large machinery and specialized equipment that is needed for foundry processes in Taiwan, according to EVA. The airline is the third Asian carrier to offer scheduled freighter service at IAH, joining China Airlines Cargo and Korean Air Cargo.
