Evergreen Line and Partners Augment Services in Asia, Latin America and Africa

Evergreen Line, along with its various space-sharing partners, has announced a variety of new or expanded services in recent weeks. Along with Cosco Container Lines, Pacific International Lines and Wan Hai Lines, the carrier is launching a new service linking the Far East and west coast of South America. The weekly offering involves a 70-day round trip, with 10 ships of approximately 3,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) each. Evergreen, Wan Hai, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Seacon are starting up a weekly joint service connecting Asia with points in East Africa. It will deploy six ships with capacity of between 1,200 TEU and 1,350 TEU. In an expansion of its intra-Asia regional network, Evergreen has initiated a weekly Japan-Taiwan-South China Sea (JTS) service, deploying three containerships of 900 TEU. And the carrier has launched a weekly Thailand-Malaysia-Indonesia (TMI) service, replacing and expanding on its existing Indonesia-Malaysia (ISI) service. Two ships, one of 900 TEU and the other of 820 TEU, will be deployed on the route.
