IFS Debuts Version 8 of ERP Suite for Manufacturing Industries

IFS, a vendor of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) technology, has developed IFS Applications 8, the latest version of its offering for manufacturing industries.

New features include comprehensive support for aftermarket service and repair, prototype manufacturing, an enhanced sales-configurator and shop-floor reporting capabilities. The tool supports the entire lifecycle of a project wile remaining an integrated part of the overall ERP system, the company said. IFS Applications 8 is the first version to be delivered with the IFS Enterprise Explorer interface as standard. The interface offers extensive customization options to suit the needs of each user. The new version also includes a new business-intelligence concept, enhanced platform technology and a user-centric approach to business applications, IFS said. The company focuses on the service and asset management, manufacturing, supply-chain and project sectors.
