INSIGHT, ToolsGroup in Joint Marketing Venture

ToolsGroup, which provides inventory optimization solutions, and INSIGHT Inc., which specializes in planning solutions for supply chain design, will jointly sell their complementary software in industries such as food and beverage, consumer goods, chemical and petroleum as well as in manufacturing and parts distribution.
"ToolsGroup's DPM inventory optimization technology combined with INSIGHT's SAILS supply chain planning suite enables companies to rationalize their end-to-end distribution network and simultaneously optimize their inventory," according to a joint statement from the companies. "The combined offering increases customer service levels while reducing overall logistics costs."

Joseph Shamir, CEO of ToolsGroup, says the alliance "is an excellent fit for companies that want to maximize current network and inventory policies or for companies that are going through a merger or acquisition.

"Finding the right balance between supply and demand can be tricky for large companies that are looking to improve bottom-line results, says Jeffrey Karrenbauer, president of INSIGHT. "Working with ToolsGroup, we can offer inventory optimization technology as a natural extension of our network design software to help companies determine the optimal logistics efficiencies, eliminate costs, and mitigate risks within the supply chain."
