InSync Software Releases Collaboration Platform for RFID, Sensors

InSync Software, Inc. a vendor of radio frequency identification (RFID) systems involving sensors, has made available InSync Edgeware 3.2. The updated software is an application platform that uses RFID and sensor technologies, including global positioning system (GPS), barcode and environmental sensors. It features an updated library of utilities and pre-defined workflows designed to automate shipping and receiving, asset tracking and other common processes. The Edgeware tools can be used to configure composite applications. Specific functions include item-level track and trace, asset management and food traceability. Also new to the 3.2 release is the ability to run Edgeware on mobile devices, such as handheld RFID readers and writers. Users get capability for data acquisition and related business-logic functions in remote locations, where processes might be disconnected from the IP network. Edgeware's SensorNet technology allows customers to configure, monitor and manage devices using a browser-based Rich Internet Application (RIA). InSync also employs RIA in dashboards to provide real-world views of asset-based activity.
