Inttra Offering Shippers Access to Marine Cargo Insurance

Inttra, a global, multi-carrier shipping network for ocean freight, is now offering its shipper members access to cargo insurance from Lloyd's of London broker FP Marine Risks.

Available through Inttra's electronic-commerce platform, the insurance can be purchased during the shipping process through Alto, FP Marine Risks' online platform. Shippers can click a link to request a quote from FP Marine Risks, embedding the ability to purchase cargo insurance into their shipping workflows. In the process, said Inttra, they can streamline the insurance-buying process and eliminate duplicate data entry. Insurance certificates are issued online and serviced by FP Marine Risks. The offering gives small to mid-sized shippers access to competitive rates, with no requirements for bonding, and premium payments due on a net-30-day basis. The quote, purchase and issuance of certificates are available online and integrated into the shipment-management process. Coverage offered through FP Marine Risks is door-to-door, and includes protection against "all risks" for the full cargo value, including freight charges.
