Previously, the company was represented there by sales agent Khimji Ramdas Group. Kuehne & Nagel has taken over 70 percent of the shares of Universal Freight Services Co. LLC from Khimji Ramdas. The new company is operating under the global Kuehne & Nagel brand as Kuehne & Nagel LLC. Headquartered in Muscat, it employs a staff of 16. It will provide local and international customers with integrated, information technology-based logistics services. Khimji Ramdas, a Muscat-based, family-owned company, operates 30 business divisions and employs around 3,000 people. In another company development, Kuehne & Nagel has opened an office in Myanmar. It is located in Yangon (Rangoon), near the country's major seaports and airports. The company is offering a range of forwarding services by sea and air, warehousing, overland transportation and customs brokerage.
