Lucas Systems Debuts Work-Optimization App; Certifies Android Devices

Lucas Systems Inc., a provider of mobile work-execution technology for warehouses and distribution centers, has introduced Dynamic Work Optimization.

The tool offers advanced modeling capabilities, with the ability to maximize pick density and minimize travel in picking and other tasks. According to Lucas, it can reduce travel by up to 50 percent, compared with warehouse-management system-directed batch picking. Dynamic Work Optimization is a component of Lucas Engage, the vendor's work-execution software. In another company announcement, Lucas has certified new Android smartphones, tablets and accessories for use with Lucas Move mobile applications, which now support radio frequency identification and near-field communications in addition to barcode scanning and voice. Lucas Move, featuring the intelligent voice agent named Jennifer, is a mobile app for voice picking and other warehouse applications. It guides users through a combination of voice direction, speech recognition, visual user interfaces and barcode scanning.
