ODIN Budapest Joint Venture Formed

ODIN technologies, which specializes in RFID services and infrastructure, has entered into a joint venture with Swiss firm MTS and the Hungarian government to form ODIN Budapest to meet the rapid growth in the European RFID market.
"Europe represents the second-largest market for RFID," says ODIN technologies President and CEO Patrick J. Sweeney. "ODIN technologies has already established the leading brand for RFID implementation services in the United States by focusing on the physics of RFID and ensuring systems perform consistently at 100 percent read rates. We are bringing that same proven scientific approach to ODIN Budapest which we expect to set the standard for the highest quality and most efficient RFID deployments in Europe."
Sweeney says Europe still depends largely on "generalists" such as systems integrators for RFID services. Such reliance has led to "problem implementations" in the United States and Europe and has caused project delays and unnecessary cost overruns, he says.
