Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has opened a new 267-door service center in Memphis, Tenn.

The company said it invested more than $30m in the site, following four years of record growth at its previous location in the area. Memphis serves as one of Old Dominion’s busiest freight hubs, due to its proximity to Interstate 40, Interstate 55, three major railheads, the Memphis cargo airport and a major inland port. The carrier has served the Memphis area for 35 years. The new center provides direct service to western Tennessee, east Arkansas and northern Mississippi. Old Dominion provides regional, inter-regional and national less-than-truckload carriage, as well as a range of logistics services, including ground and air expedited transportation, supply-chain consulting, transportation management, truckload brokerage, container delivery and warehousing.
