Psion Teklogix Debuts Service Program Under One Global Contract

Psion Teklogix has expanded the service program for its full line of rugged mobile computers. The vendor has fashioned a new global offering called I-Serv. It allows customers to take advantage of a single global contract while reducing their total cost of ownership by as much as 50 percent for hardware and services, Psion Teklogix claimed. I-Serv combines real-time online global device tracing with guaranteed service level agreements, round-the-clock live help-desk support in more than seven languages, and onsite technical support and abuse repair. The goal is to simplify service for customers, the company said. Customers can combine several options within their I-Serv "customer-care" packages, such as abuse repair; depot repair with same-day, three-day or seven-day guaranteed service options; help-desk support either round-the-clock or eight hours a day and five days a week, and one- or two-day onsite support. With any level of service, the company is offering a free, same-day upgrade on the customer's next repair if it fails to meet the guaranteed service-level agreement. In addition, Psion Teklogix customers will receive a third year of service free when they purchase a two-year I-Serv program.
