Strategy makers in FMCG and retail agree that following 20 years of overall GDP growth despite global recession, the opportunity in Sub-Saharan Africa is too important to miss. With growth potential across Western markets still stagnant, the drive to supply the rapidly developing middle class market is a top priority and a key area of investment for global brands.
Whilst most agree that their investment in the region will see double digit growth over the coming year, the continent poses significant supply chain challenges. Creating resilient and efficient supply chains that ensure business continuity to support the planned expansion of their footprint in Africa is therefore vital.
Several of our best clients had asked us to launch a supply chain event in Africa that would address the challenges above. For the last 6 months we have been researching with global brands and solutions providers that want to strengthen their position in Africa. As a result we are launching the LogiAfrica conference, which will take place on 2-3 October in Johannesburg.
The conference will bring together 150 supply chain thought-leaders who will be looking to learn about avoiding the pitfalls, benchmark their existing strategy and procure cost-efficient solutions.
Confirmed speakers include:
Jan Tukker, General Manager Logistics, Foschini Group
Mieke Damen, Supply Chain Vice President, Vlisco
