Ryder System Co-Locates Reverse and Forward Logistics Services

Ryder System Inc. is now including a co-location service within its reverse-logistics offering. The company is integrating forward and reverse logistics in the same facility. In the process, it is combining the distribution management of finished goods with returns processes such as technical repair, refurbishment and repackaging in one location. Ryder's reverse-logistics capability consists of a suite of integrated logistics and information-technology services for the end-to-end management of returned goods. Those services include initiation of return materials authorization (RMA); product sorting; credit reconciliation; triage and functional testing; technical repair; parts reclamation; scrap, disposal and recycling, and packaging and kitting.
