Savi Aids in Complying With New DOD Rules for Unique Item IDs

Savi Technology has developed I-GUIDES 4, the vendor's latest method for complying with new data formats required by the U.S. Department of Defense. Specifically, the product is aimed at DOD's requirement that key items and supply-chain assets be marked with a unique identification code. Suppliers who fail to update their systems will be unable to communicate with the DOD IUID (Unique Identification Device) Registry after Dec. 31. I-GUIDES customers who upgrade before 2011 will receive the software updates for free, provided their maintenance contracts are current, Savi said. The tool allows users to scale up their systems in line with their requirements, Savi said. I-GUIDES 4 includes features that make it easier to collaborate with DOD, whether the asset is in inventory, operational use or undergoing maintenance, according to the vendor.
