Shipco Launches New Services From New York City and Atlanta

Shipco Transport, a neutral non-vessel operating common carrier, has launched two new services. A weekly offering allows for direct shipments of less-than-containerload (LCL) cargoes from New York City to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The bypassing of the traditional route via a Florida port reduces transit time, cargo handling and domestic transportation costs, the company said. In addition, Shipco has added four direct services from Atlanta to Durban/Johannesburg, South Africa; Chennai, India; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Milan, Italy.  The move underscores the company's focus on Atlanta as a major consolidation point in the U.S. South Atlantic region. Shipco, which provides a range of neutral export and import services by ocean and air, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Scan-Group, an international shipping and transportation company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.
