Trimble Acquiring Transportation Software Provider TMW Systems

Trimble, a vendor of applications to aid field and mobile workers in business and government, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire TMW Systems Inc.

The latter is a provider of software to transportation and logistics companies. The technology serves as a hub from which core operations of transportation organizations can be managed, data can be stored and analyzed, and critical business processes can be automated. TMW's capability spans the surface-transportation lifecycle, providing users with visibility, control and decision support for processes involved in the movement of freight. TMW's applications currently integrate with Trimble's transportation and logistics systems in many fleets.
