UPS has launched UPS Temperature True Cryo, a service that includes real-time tracking and intervention services for healthcare customers with temperature-sensitive shipments.

Coupled with UPS’s monitoring, risk-mitigation and control-tower services, the new offering offers visibility for cryogenic shipments at each stage of the supply chain, the company said. The expansion is the latest addition to UPS’s Temperature True suite of offerings. It relies on Cryoport’s cryogenic and related technologies, allowing for the use of liquid nitrogen stored in dry vapor to keep products frozen at -150 degrees Celsius for 10 days while in transit or storage. Temperature True is available for products ranging from cryogenic to ambient, from companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical-device industries. UPS offers three freight service levels with different time-in-transit and control options for bulk temperature-sensitive shipments.
