Virgin Atlantic Cargo to Add Daily Flights Between London, Mumbai

Virgin Atlantic Cargo will begin daily passenger and cargo flights between Mumbai, India and London Heathrow airport, with connections to major U.S. gateways, on Oct. 29.

The service will feature Airbus A330 aircraft. The new schedule allows the airline to offer same- and next-day services for shipments from India to the U.S., according to director of cargo John Lloyd. With fast transfer in London, exports leaving Mumbai on Virgin Atlantic's daily flights arrive the same day at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport by 4:50 p.m., Los Angeles by 6:55 p.m. and Newark by 7:05 p.m. Virgin Atlantic also offers customers in India next-day deliveries to other U.S. destinations. The new Mumbai service is in addition to the airline's daily flights from New Delhi to London. Virgin Atlantic has extended its GSA agreement with InterGlobe in Delhi to cover Mumbai.
