Workforce Locator From Alltel Wireless Now Available for Business

Alltel Wireless has announced the release of its Alltel Workforce Locator. Designed by Autodesk, the tracking and mobile resource management tool is now available on the first in a series of BREW (Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless) devices enabled with location-based services such as the Samsung R430, Samsung U520, LG AX260 and LG AX300. Workforce Locator allows companies to monitor their mobile workforces in real time, through the viewing of Web-based maps. The software directs employees to the correct jobsite; it also allows for the sending of job updates via text messaging. The platform can accommodate any number of workloads or users for businesses, regardless of size, Alltel claimed. Other features include location enablement and privacy controls for mobile workforces, travel directions, the ability to send text messages from personal computers to mobile phones, maintenance-free manageability for IT administrators, and on-demand service for quick provisioning of workforces and dispatchers. The software is available for $15 per month and a one-time charge of $19.99 per line on select Alltel phones.
