Penske Logistics and ABX Logistics Forge Strategic Alliance
Penske Logistics and Belgium-based ABX LOGISTICS have formed a strategic alliance focused on providing integrated, global supply chain solutions for multinational corporations. The alliance combines Penske Logistics' strengths in logistics execution and technology with ABX LOGISTICS' global footprint and strong freight
forwarding capabilities.
The Penske-ABX LOGISTICS alliance developed a total solution that assists international shippers in gaining efficiency and savings through fewer shipments, greater inventory control, improved productivity, Six Sigma-driven processes, and increased supply chain transparency using a proprietary technology solution.
Penske Logistics and ABX LOGISTICS will provide seamless handling of customer shipments from initial consolidation at air/ocean ports to deconsolidation centers, and ultimately to the customer's desired end destination. An integrated proprietary IT system enables the customer to "see” where their goods are in the supply chain in a virtually real-time environment. This may range from when a shipment arrived or left a specific distribution center or port to when the shipment will clear customs in a specific country.
The Penske-ABX LOGISTICS alliance is focusing its initial efforts on providing this service offering to existing customers. The alliance will also seek strategic opportunities with multinational corporations around the globe.

DHL Wins New Agreement With Cellular Repair Provider
DHL has been selected by Overland Park, KS-based Cellect Solutions, a new cellular value added services company, as its express shipping provider. Cellect Solutions provides warrantee return services for regional cellular service providers, coordinating cellular phone warranty repairs from the customer to the manufacturer, and providing loaner phones to cellular phone service customers while the repair is in process. Cellect Solutions will use DHL to provide loaner phones to wireless customers nationwide, ensuring cellular clients maintain uninterrupted service.

Univar USA Inc. Partners with Odyssey Logistics & Technology on Inbound Transportation
Univar USA Inc., the leading chemical distributor in the United States, has entered into a strategic partnership with Odyssey Logistics & Technology, a global logistics and transportation provider for chemical and process manufacturers. Odyssey will be handling all of Univar's inbound bulk and package transportation management to include carrier selection, contracting, management and payment as well as access to Odyssey's extensive network of commercial carriers.
Univar's partnership with Odyssey is part of a larger, strategic step within the company's distribution supply chain to add inbound logistics support and expertise. Odyssey will deploy its transportation management technology in order to improve efficiencies and provide the functionality necessary to manage this very complex network. The Odyssey service offering will allow Univar to centralize, standardize and automate all inbound activity for greater efficiency and increased productivity. Unipart Logistics Selects SaviTrak to Provide Real-Time Information on Containerized Cargo from Origin to Destination
Unipart, one of Europe's largest logistics service providers, recently began tracking Jaguar car parts in real-time while they're transported in cargo containers from the United Kingdom to the United States. Under the Jaguar Tradelane Project, the containers are tracked by using SaviTrak, a Radio Frequency Identification-based (RFID) information service provided by Savi Networks.
Unipart and Savi Networks will provide best-of-breed services and solutions leveraging SaviTrak to monitor the location, security status and condition of cargo container shipments when they pass by readers at factories, ports, distribution facilities and other key supply chain nodes. Savi Networks is a joint venture between Savi Technology, Inc., a Lockheed Martin company [NYSE: LMT], and Hutchison Port Holdings, the world's leading port operator.

Kuehne + Nagel Expands Operations in Ukraine
Kuehne + Nagel is expanding its services and capacities in Ukraine with completion of a new logistics center in Gostomel. Kuehne + Nagel has invested more than 10 million euros in its new logistics facility built on a 60,000 sqm plot in Gostomel, Kiev Region, to accommodate the dynamic business performance. With the completion of the second phase of construction, the logistics centre now offers 18,500 sqm of warehouse space and includes attractive office premises for the forwarding and administrative departments of the Ukrainian Kuehne + Nagel company. Kuehne + Nagel has been operating in Ukraine since 1992. The national company was established in 1997 and today operates branch offices in the country's major centres of industry and trade.

TNT Network Logistics to Distribute SRB Products in UK
TNT Network Logistics will be handling distribution for SRB products in the UK through 2008. SRB products include fasteners and fixings, The distribution operations include collecting product from the SRB warehouses in the West Midlands and distributing individual shipments through TNT Network Logistics depots. At the depots, the shipments are entered into the multi-user distribution network and delivered to engineering wholesalers and distributors on a daily, weekly or ad hoc basis. There will be about 1,200 deliveries a week ranging in size from parcels to pallets to long-length materials.

Panalpina Expands Air and Ocean Logistics Services in Dubai
Panalpina's new logistics center in Dubai Logistics City will be part of Dubai World Central at Jebel Ali Airport. Dubai's expanded airport will include a cluster of specialized zones as well as Dubai World Central International Airport, which when completed will have a capacity equal to that of Chicago O'Hare and London Heathrow.
Panalpina's logistics center will provide integrated multi-modal logistics in a single customs bonded and free zone environment, adjacent to the Jebel Ali Free Zone and Seaport. The Company has signed a preliminary lease agreement for 45,000 square meters, including a 10,000 square meter warehouse. The new terminal will include air-conditioned temperature-controlled facilities and dedicated space for both ocean and air freight cargo. Construction work is scheduled to start at the end of 2006 and should be completed within a year.

Schenker to Handle Global Aftermarket for Visteon
Schenker and its wholly owned subsidiary, Anterist & Schneider Automotive Service GmbH, have been chosen as Visteon Corporation's new provider of global procurement, logistics and European distribution of aftermarket components for the Independent aftermarket. The contract will enhance delivery service and speed for its customers as the new contract will provide greater availability of replacement parts.
Under this contract, a key priority for Visteon is to significantly reduce its delivery times. The standard delivery time is currently two to six days, depending on the country but from the beginning of 2007, Visteon's aim is to achieve overnight delivery of its components to independent replacement part retailers within Germany. Visteon is also planning to optimise the system to improve the aftermarket supply chain for other countries in the future.
Schenker will handle procurement logistics, storage, parts packaging, order picking and dispatch via Schenker's road, rail and sea transport networks. The Company will plan and control all incoming and outgoing transport movements. Operative processing of storage, order picking, dispatch preparation and other services will be carried out by Anterist & Schneider.
