Historian connects, stores and normalizes time-series sensor data from industrial equipment and processes. According to GE, the information enables real-time analysis and troubleshooting required to analyze asset performance. The software features a proprietary archiving and compression technique, native collectors, and application programming interfaces (APIs) to easily get data in and out. The tool can scale to support hundreds of users and millions of individual machine data points, GE said. Historian HD is now Cloudera certified, specifically to move Historian data from GE's proprietary format to the open-source Parquet schema.
