When an entity joins C-TPAT, an agreement is made to work with CBP to protect the supply chain, identify security gaps, and implement specific security measures and best practices. Applicants must address a broad range of security topics and present security profiles that list action plans to align security throughout the supply chain.
In short: In return for the benefits, members must ensure several measures are in place to safeguard their supply chain. These membership requirements have now changed effective immediately!
Now, both new applicants as well as existing partners must comply with 5 key policies to cover social and labor issues in addition to the previous requirements.
