QuestaWeb, a vendor of global trade management software, has released a Web-based software module designed to automate foreign trade zone operations and related manufacturing processes. The FTZ-QW module combines rule-based functionality with content, reporting and integration tools, as well as multiple electronic links to government agencies. According to QuestaWeb, the software allows for precise control over U.S. Customs-supervised inventory, including compliant movements, and FTZ manufacturing. It unifies import, export, logistics, compliance, FTZ manufacturing and processes such as Customs clearance, Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications, export licensing, denied-party screening, product catalogs, tracking, event management and international document repository. The software operates both as a standalone system and as part of the TradeMaster-QW suite of integrated GTM applications. In either case, QuestaWeb said, it can be seamlessly connected to the importer's enterprise resource planning system. The module delivers instant compliance verification and supports management by exception. It involves no transaction fees, the vendor said.
