Panjiva, a provider of information on global manufacturers for sourcing executives, has released the latest version of its supply-chain intelligence platform. The vendor has added natural-language search functionality, enabling users to type a query in the same format they would use in a traditional search engine. The new version also provides improved supplier information and options for users to save, compare or group companies via a drag-and-drop "myPanjiva" toolbar. In a few keystrokes, any member of a sourcing group can find overseas suppliers based on the products they supply, the geography in which they are located, and the names of other U.S. companies with whom they have done business. Users can search Panjiva for a specific query, such as competitor or supplier name, or conduct a broad search by region or item. Additional features include Boolean search support and the ability to narrow down results with a single click.
