Aras Corp., a vendor of open-source product lifecycle management (PLM) software, has made available its Aras Innovator suite enabled on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Windows 7. The enhancement improves security while offering a number of new user interface features. Aras claims to be the first open-source PLM software suite to be enabled on Microsoft's latest operating system platforms. The vendor offers full support for multi-core processing along with improved security and reliability features, improved management functionality and advanced data-center visualization with Hyper-V, according to Aras president Peter Schroer.
