Sky-Trax Issues New Series of Optical Position Sensors, Label Readers

Sky-Trax Inc

June 18, 2008

Sky-Trax Incorporated has announced the commercial release of its "next-generation" family of optical position sensors (OPS) and optical label readers (OLR). The Sigma Series OPS and OLR features high-speed processing and high-resolution for improved performance, higher data-transmission rates and greater accuracy, the vendor claimed. The Sky-Trax System provides inch-accurate tracking of indoor industrial vehicles. The company's Skan-Free System is an automated data-collection tool for inventory tracking. The Sigma Series sensors are engineered for speed and harsh environments, able to operate in areas of high dust, high moisture and in climate-controlled areas with large temperature variations. They are equipped with an environmentally sealed case for dust and water protection, an optional heater for temperature stabilization, and a condensation-protected window that is rated for use in cold storage areas. Sigma Series will also tolerate outdoor exposure to wind, dust, rain and fog, Sky-Trax said.
