Aras, a vendor of open-source product lifecycle management (PLM) software, has won "compatible with Windows 7" certification for its Aras Innovator. The tool is the first PLM application to achieve that designation, the vendor claimed. Software designers must submit their applications to rigorous testing and performance requirements before attaining Compatible with Windows 7 status. The validation applies to both 32- and 64-bit machines. Aras Innovator had previously been designated as compatible with Windows Server, .NET and SQL Server. It is the only PLM software suite to have achieved certification on all of those Microsoft platforms, Aras claimed. Aras Innovator is designed and developed on the Microsoft platform.
