Aras Issues CAD Connector for Siemens PLM Software Applications

Aras has made available a packaged computer-assisted design (CAD) connection from ICP Solution GmbH & Co. KG, for Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Solutions Solid Edge 3D and 2D software products. ICP is a provider of CAD connector integration products and PLM deployment services. It provides the corporate community with a CAD connector for the Aras Innovator PLM application. Solid Edge is a mainstream CAD system serving companies from multiple industries. The ICP CAD connector for Solid Edge enables product-structure handling and product-data extraction with Aras Innovator. Features of the connector include the ability to load and save a 3D model structure as a document structure in Aras Innovator, create a parts list and import to Aras Innovator as a bill of materials product structure, create a drawing and refresh title block data, and synchronize user-specific attributes in the CAD model as well as header data, release data and change history in the drawing frame. In the CAD session, uses can control the CAD structure and PLM attributes, according to Aras.
