VWR International, LLC, a laboratory supply and distribution company, is building a new facility in Visalia, Calif. Covering 500,000 square feet, the site will bolster VWR's distribution network and supply-chain services in the western U.S. It is scheduled to become operational in 2012. Headquartered in West Chester, Penn., VWR reported worldwide sales of more than $3.5bn in 2009. Customers include major pharmaceutical and biotech companies, as well as industrial, educational and governmental organizations. Services include storeroom management, product procurement, supply-chain systems integration and technical expertise. The company claims more than 6,500 employees around the world.
