rfXcel Corp. has joined with Activant Solutions Inc. to offer customers of the latter the ability to trace pharmaceuticals and related ingredients from origin to destination. rfXcel is a provider of electronic pedigree and track-and-trace systems for the life sciences, technology and consumer goods industries. Activant sells business-management software to retail and wholesale distribution businesses, with an emphasis on hardlines and lumber, wholesale distribution and the automotive parts aftermarket. Their new joint service gives medical-supply customers complete traceability and pedigree capabilities, joining rfXcel's products in that area with the capabilities of the Activant Distribution Suite. A direct interface makes possible the integration of rfXcel's systems with Activant's Prophet 21 application. Activant customers have access to multiple rfXcel modules, including Active ePedigree Management and Raw Materials, Ingredients and Finished Goods Traceability products. Pedigree tracking is a requirement of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and state regulators, compelling pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers to track drugs throughout the supply chain.
