Compiere Inc., a vendor of open-source, hosted enterprise resource planning software, has made available the Compiere ERP Connector for Salesforce CRM on the AppExchange. The new tool integrates Compiere's ERP with Salesforce CRM by synchronizing data between the two applications. The Connector was created for Compiere in cooperation with development partner Estuate, using the Force.com platform. Compiere ERP is designed to complement or replace legacy ERP applications. It automates multiple processes, including accounting, purchasing, order fulfillment, manufacturing and warehousing. The Connector automatically updates accounts, customer orders and invoices between the ERP and CRM software. In another company announcement, Compiere has launched Compiere Exchange, a hub for extensions built and supported by the vendor's authorized partners. Exchange currently features nearly a dozen extensions for companies in various industries, including distribution, manufacturing, banking and construction. Examples include SugarCRM, Salesforce.com and electronic data interchange connectors, and a fleet resource management module. Compiere Exchange consists of three types of extensions: add-on modules, connectors and language packs.
