Motorola Develops New Handheld Digital Assistant With 3G Capability

Motorola

June 25, 2008

Motorola has developed a new handheld mobile computer, the MC75. The latest addition to the company's portfolio of Enterprise Digital Assistants is designed for organizations that require connectivity around the world. It combines high-speed access to voice and data with support for 3G wide area networks (WANs) based on the HSDPA and CDMA-EVDO (Rev A) standards for wireless communications. The unit is equipped with 802.11 a/b/g/ Wi-Fi capability, a color VGA display and a two-megapixel digital auto-focus color camera. It captures high-quality pictures, documents and signatures, as well as 1D and 2D barcodes. According to Motorola, the MC75 will allow global companies with mobile workforces to standardize operations on a single mobile device, offering wireless connectivity, functionality and manageability through the vendor's Mobility Services Platform. The MC75 offers comprehensive service coverage for any type of damage, from broken displays and keypads to internal and external components.
