FreightWatch Security Net is offering the Moog Crossbow ILC2000 device as its new FlightSmart air cargo tracker. The company is a provider of track-and-trace technology that works where traditional global positioning system (GPS) technology does not. The ILC2000 is a GSM/GPRS tracking device equipped with built-in sensors to monitor temperature, excessive shock, tilting and package tampering. In compliance with Federal Aviation Administration rules, it automatically shuts off prior to "wheels up" on commercial or cargo aircraft, then turns itself back on when the aircraft lands. It continues to collect environmental sensor data in real time while the device's cellular radio is hibernating during flight. Once the plane has landed, cellular communication automatically resumes, and relays all collected sensor data to the FSNtracks track-and-trace monitoring platform. FSN is a provider of portable, battery-powered tracking devices that can be placed covertly inside shipments or mobile assets, providing real-time location and environmental data.
