HelpSTAR, a developer of help-desk software, has made available its 2012 Service Desk Collaboration Suite. The tool integrates the workflow components of the company's Service Desk Management application with documentation, communication and synchronization functionality. HelpSTAR's service requests include updates, escalations, business-rules transactions, notifications and alerts, and role-based access control. A wide range of collaborative objects, including instant messages, documents with encryption, check-in and check-out, and preview functionality, are now integrated in the service request. Customers can send, receive and view communications relating to requests within one consolidated view. Role-based access control gives users limited access to specific tasks, documents and calendar items. Document management capability enables multiple users to coordinate tasks and workflows. Communications tools promote teamwork with the project or task infrastructure. Access is available from any mobile browser, with no app required.
